Valdimar Halldórsson has around 20 years of professional experience in both financial markets and business management. For the past four years, he has worked independently as a consultant and board member, including serving on the board of the New Business Venture Fund and several start-ups on behalf of the fund. He has extensive board experience, having served on the boards of Stapi Pension Fund, Orkuveita Húsavíkur, ISAVIA, and as Chairman of the Board of the Duty Free Store (Fríhöfnin).
Valdimar has also held executive and advisory positions as CEO of Norðursigling hf. and the Húsavík Whale Museum, in corporate advisory at HF Securities and Marko Partners, as Assistant to the Minister of Industry and Commerce, in the research department of Íslandsbanki, and at the National Economic Institute of Iceland (I. Þjóðhagsstofnun).
He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Iceland and the University of Oslo, Norway, and an M.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Iceland.
