Valdimar has approximately 20 years of professional experience in both financial markets and business management.
He has extensive experience serving on the boards of companies and investment funds, including Stapi Pension Fund, Húsavík Energy Utility, ISAVIA, GI Research (Gallup), and previously served as Chair of the Board of the Icelandic Duty Free Store.
Valdimar currently serves on the boards of numerous companies within the portfolio of the Innovation Fund of Icelandic Industry.
Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director of Norðursigling Ltd. and the Húsavík Whale Museum. He has also worked in corporate advisory services at HF Securities and Marko Partners, as an advisor to the Minister of Industries, in the research department of Íslandsbanki, and at the National Economic Institute of Iceland.
Valdimar holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the University of Iceland and the University of Oslo, Norway, and an M.Sc. degree in Business Administration from the University of Iceland.
