Svanhildur Nanna Vigfúsdóttir

Chair of the Board

Svanhildur is an investor and executive with extensive experience in corporate management, investments, strategic planning, and board governance. She has held numerous positions of trust and responsibility within the Icelandic business community. From 2005 to 2008, she served as Managing Director of Treasury and Asset Management at Staumur-Burðarás Investment Bank (a predecessor of Kvika Bank). Prior to that, she was Head of Funding at Kaupþing (KB Bank, a predecessor of Arion Bank), where she established and developed the bank’s international funding platform.

Between 1999 and 2003, Svanhildur worked at the Investment Bank of the Icelandic Business Sector and later Íslandsbanki. During this period, she worked in capital markets and trading before assuming the role of Head of Online Trading. Svanhildur has served on the boards of companies in the financial services, insurance, retail, and innovation sectors. Among other roles, she has chaired the boards of VÍS Insurance and Skeljungur. Today, she serves as Chair of the Board of Kría, Iceland’s innovation fund, Chair of the Board of Act4 (a television production company), and Chair of Bestseller Iceland.

Svanhildur graduated from Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík in 1996. In 1999, she earned a B.Sc. degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, and in 2003 she completed a Master’s degree in International Business and Marketing from the University of Iceland. In addition, she has obtained certification as a licensed securities broker and completed an executive education program in corporate governance at Harvard Business School.

Throughout her career, she has developed extensive expertise in financial markets, investments, corporate management, and governance. She has played an active role in the development and growth of numerous companies and investment projects.
