Ásta Dís Óladóttir is a Professor of Management and International Business at the University of Iceland with decades of experience in management and strategic leadership within the Icelandic business sector. She earned her PhD from Copenhagen Business School in 2010 and has since combined academic work with extensive professional experience in both domestic and international contexts.
Ásta Dís has served on the boards of numerous companies and institutions, including the Icelandic Competition Authority (I. Samkeppniseftirlitið), the Regional Development Institute (I. Byggðastofnun), the New Venture Fund Kría, Frumtak, as well as various start-ups, financial institutions, and insurance companies. She has also been a member of several audit and remuneration committees.
She is Chair of the Institute of Business Research at the University of Iceland (I. Viðskiptafræðistofnun Háskóla Íslands), the Science Fund at the University of Akureyri (I. Vísindasjóður Háskólans á Akureyri), and Jafnvægisvogin (e. The Gender Balance Initiative), in addition to serving on the board of Samherji. She is also the founder of the Research Centre for Gender Equality in Economy and Business at the University of Iceland and currently sits on its board.
