Ásta Dís is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at the University of Iceland, with decades of experience in leadership and strategic roles within Icelandic business and industry. She earned her Ph.D. from Copenhagen Business School in 2010 and has since combined academic work with extensive practical experience from both the Icelandic and international business sectors. Ásta Dís has served on the boards of numerous companies and institutions, including the Icelandic Competition Authority, the Icelandic Regional Development Institute, The New Business Venture Fund Kría, Frumtak, startup companies, as well as financial and insurance companies. She has also served on numerous audit and remuneration committees. She is Chair of the Institute of Business Research at the University of Iceland and the founder of the Research Centre for Gender Equality in Economic and Business Affairs at the University of Iceland, where she also serves as a member of the board.
