
Pikkoló has received a marketing and promotion grant from Hönnunarsjóður Íslands (e. the Icelandic Design Fund) in the amount of 1.5 million ISK. fyrir 1,5 milljónir króna. The Design Fund annually awards grants to a wide range of projects in the fields of design and architecture, including development and research, project work, and marketing activities, as well as travel grants. This year, Pikkoló was among the companies selected to receive a marketing and promotion grant.
The role of the Design Fund is to strengthen knowledge, employment, and value creation in the fields of design and architecture through financial support. The fund is financed by the government. It also promotes increased export of Icelandic design by supporting international marketing and promotional efforts.
Pikkoló is one of eleven companies selected by the Kría Innovation Fund to participate in its 2025 investment initiative, Frumsjóður 2025. Pikkoló was founded in 2021 and is developing a sustainable distribution system that connects online grocery stores with refrigerated pickup stations located in local neighborhoods.
The main goal of Pikkoló is to ensure that everyone can access a wide variety of fresh groceries in their local area in a simple, affordable, and environmentally friendly way.
