
The Norðanstormur conference took place at Hof in Akureyri on February 26th. Norðanstormur is a forum where ideas, capital, and vision come together.
At the conference, investors provided insight into the main financing options available to entrepreneurs and the considerations that guide investment decisions. Entrepreneurs from North Iceland also took the stage to share their own funding journeys, the opportunities that have arisen, and the challenges they have faced during the growth of their companies.
Among the speakers was Edda Lára Lúðvígsdóttir, Investment Manager at the Business Venture Fund Kría. She delivered a presentation on the financing of innovative companies and the role of the fund as a public investment fund in building a strong innovation ecosystem.
In her talk, she discussed the Icelandic financing environment, entrepreneurs’ access to capital, and the importance of further strengthening funding for innovative companies in order to support growth, prosperity, and Iceland’s competitiveness.
The program also included lively panel discussions where investors and entrepreneurs shared their experiences and provided practical advice and insights into the factors that are crucial when financing and building companies.
