Edda Lára Lúðvígsdóttir, Investment Director of Fund Investments at The New Business Venture Fund Kría, recently attended a meeting of the European Venture Fund Investors Network (EVFIN), held in Oslo, Norway.
EVFIN is a collaborative network of European public investors, established in 2011 to strengthen cooperation, share best practices, and support the development of a stronger and more sustainable venture capital ecosystem across Europe. The New Business Venture Fund Kría is one of the network's member funds, alongside similar state-backed investment funds from the Nordic countries and across Europe.
The meeting brought together around 50 participants representing 25 investment funds. Discussions focused on the latest developments in European Union policy and regulation relating to venture capital, how member funds leverage European financing instruments to invest in venture capital funds, ways to encourage institutional investors to participate in fund investments, and Norway's experience of public-private partnerships in investment financing.
Participation in EVFIN provides The New Business Venture Fund Kría with an important platform for keeping abreast of developments in the European venture capital market, learning from the experience of peer organisations, and sharing its own expertise. The collaboration also strengthens relationships with other state-backed investment funds across Europe, supporting the continued development of Iceland's innovation ecosystem.
