Sweeply, a portfolio company of The New Business Venture Fund Kría, has appointed Michael Levie and Kristín Þorsteinsdóttir to its Board of Directors. With these appointments, the company is further strengthening its strategic development and international expansion in the market for operational software solutions for the hospitality industry.
Michael Levie is one of the most recognised entrepreneurs and influential figures in the global hotel industry over the past decades. He is a co-founder of citizenM Hotels, widely regarded as one of the most innovative and transformative brands in modern hospitality. Throughout his career, Levie has held senior leadership positions at Sonesta International, NH Hoteles and SynXis, and is well known for his contributions to innovation, digital transformation and the development of new operating models in the hotel sector.
Kristín Þorsteinsdóttir leads hotel development for France, Türkiye, Georgia and the CIS region at IHG Hotels & Resorts. She brings extensive experience from the hospitality, travel and real estate industries, with expertise in development, portfolio management and strategic partnerships. Throughout her career, she has led complex transactions and high-value negotiations while building partnerships that have delivered outstanding results in international markets.

Today, Sweeply's platform is used by around 300 hotels and accommodation providers across 26 countries, ranging from independent hotels to international hotel chains and multi-property operators.
Founded in 2019, Sweeply became a portfolio company of The New Business Venture Fund Kría in 2020.
