We want to draw your attention to the fact that applications are open for the grants in Lóu nýsköpunarstyrki until 30th of March 2026. The grants are awarded to innovation projects outside the capital region and are intended for projects that have moved beyond the initial beginner stage.
The purpose of the grants is to increase innovation in rural areas and support the strengthening of communities and regions through creative and innovative projects.
When evaluating the novelty of projects, the OECD definition of innovation is used. Innovation is defined as the implementation of a new or significantly improved product, service, or process; a new marketing method; or a new organizational method in business practices, workplace organization, or external relations.
It should also be noted that the grants are available for projects that support the development of an ecosystem for innovation activities and entrepreneurship based on regional conditions. However, such projects will not account for more than half of the projects receiving funding.
