The innovation company Hefring Marine, which has developed and marketed a smart navigation system that uses real-time data to improve the safety, fuel efficiency, and operation of boats and smaller vessels, recently received the Icelandic Innovation Award 2025.
Karl Birgir, the founder and CEO of the company, was asked about various things in an interview in Morgunblaðið yesterday, November 5. Karl was asked various questions about the company and its operations — such as which decision in his career has turned out best for him, what his most important management habit is, how he approaches strategy and long-term goals, and more. In addition, he was asked about his previous experience, interests, family life, and other topics.
