This fall, a new nationwide mathematics initiative was launched in collaboration with Evolytes, and nearly all schools in Iceland — about 95% of them — have joined the project.
The goal of the initiative is to improve learning outcomes in mathematics among Icelandic children, strengthen positive attitudes toward the subject, and provide teachers with real-time information about student progress. This enables teachers to offer early and targeted support where it is most needed.
The project is carried out with the support of Andvari, ensuring that all schools in the country can participate. It serves as a powerful example of how nationwide collaboration can transform education and create lasting social impact.
Only a few weeks after the initiative began, teachers across the country reported positive changes in how students approach mathematics.
Evolytes has developed a comprehensive learning system that teaches mathematics effectively and enjoyably through an educational tablet game, textbooks, and an information platform for teachers and parents. Behind the system lie years of interdisciplinary research, showing that children can learn faster and achieve better results than with traditional teaching methods. The Evolytes game matches the entertainment quality of popular games children already enjoy, making math learning both engaging and fun.
Evolytes was founded in 2017 and has been part of the Kría Innovation Fund’s investment portfolio since 2021.
