Ankeri operates in the international shipping market, which is responsible for about 90% of all global cargo transport. Ankeri is a software company that builds a cloud-based solution for shipowners and charterers of cargo vessels, enabling them to share data with each other. Ankeri’s goal is to become the first company on the market to align the interests of shipowners and charterers through improved information sharing, better energy efficiency, and reduced emissions from the global fleet. In this way, a platform is created – recognized internationally – where data on vessel efficiency is collected and linked to performance obligations in the contracts between shipowners and charterers. Shipowners can therefore market their vessels based on operational efficiency, while charterers can select vessels based on verified information about capability, performance, environmental impact, and other key factors. The company Ankeri Solutions ehf. was founded by Leifur Kristjánsson and Kristinn Aspelund, who together have decades of experience in marketing, design, and the development of software technology for shipping operations.
