Róbert Farestveit is Director of Economics and Analysis at the Icelandic Confederation of Labour (ASÍ). He graduated with an M.Sc. degree in Economics from Lund University in 2012. Róbert has worked on a wide range of projects within the labour movement. His work has included advising on collective bargaining negotiations, analyzing economic, tax, employment, and labour market issues, as well as participating in international labour movement initiatives. He served on Iceland’s Science and Technology Policy Council from 2013 to 2022 and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New Business Venture Fund of the Icelandic Industry (later Kría) since 2021.
