The startup Medagogic is one of the companies selected by the New Business Venture Fund in its investment initiative last year. Recently, the Newspaper Morgunblaðið published an interview with Birgir Þorgeirsson, founder and CEO of Medagogic, about the company and its funding. Medagogic is still seeking matching investment from angel investors, both individuals and companies.
Unfortunately, the coverage in Morgunblaðið contained errors, so a corrected interview was published on mbl.is on February 20. Read the interview on mbl.is
Medagogic is developing virtual reality environments to train healthcare professionals. Users are tasked with performing procedures on-site and interacting with other healthcare staff in solving cases. Birgir mentions in the interview that such technology will increase access to training and ultimately reduce mistakes.
The project is carried out in collaboration with the Children’s Emergency Department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Children’s Hospital in Reykjavík (Barnaspítali Hringsins).
