The company’s first product, Smali, expands the effective fishing zone of existing gear. Smali delivers higher catch per unit of time while using less energy—resulting in reduced greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, it helps protect marine biodiversity and seabed ecosystems while increasing trawler productivity. Currently, Optitog technology is used in shrimp fisheries, where the device does not touch the seabed, ensuring its protection.
